MMA is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques, from a mixture of martial arts.
The rules allow the use of striking and grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground.
The sport is one of the fastest growing in the world.
MMA classes focus predominantly on the “up close” work needed to compete in a cage or ring fight or, indeed, the street. Clinch work, striking, take downs, submissions, “ground n’ pound” and escapes are all covered in expert detail.
Classes generally consist of a warm-up and cardio work, technique drills and sparring.
